About Dan Evans
DAN EVANS ALASKAN WILDERNESS PHOTOGRAPHY
Dan Evans is no stranger to Alaska -- especially Sitka and the rest of Baranof Island. He has been shooting photographs here for almost 30 years years. His Alaskan photos have been published in The New York Times, Outside, Orion, Alaska, American West and National Fisherman magazines, Alaska Geographic Books, and Patagonia Inc. He has also worked for the television program "Wild Things," a Paramount production, where he traveled through the Alaskan and Canadian arctic photographing polar bears, walrus and caribou. He also shot underwater video photography sequences with Stellar sea lions, humpback and beluga whales for the same program.

Dan lives in Sitka with his wife, Janet. Their son Logan is enrolled in the University of North Dakota where he is studying to be a commercial pilot. They spend a good portion of their time hunting, fishing, camping and photographing. Dan and Janet bicycled from Sitka across Canada to the tip of New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and on to the Catskill Mountains of New York, where Dan was raised.
